The current Supportec was founded in 2003 under the name Ortec Seating Solutions. The current owner at the time had 60% of the shares and the director 40%.

Ortec produced orthotics for rehabilitation companies and institutions. At that time, it was chosen to do our own acquisition and deliver directly to institutions.

The measurement was semi-digital which was progressive, the production method was still artisanal. The fitting was time consuming and the outsourcing of upholstery in particular took a lot of time.

At that time, Ortec’s working method was not much different from that of other providers, in addition, the other providers were already suppliers of most of the rehabilitation dealers. The direct acquisition did not yield much and many institutions did business with the well-known rehabilitation dealers.

Financially it didn’t go well with Ortec, it balanced on the brink of bankruptcy.
