CAD/CAM

CAD/CAM

The design and manufacturing team at Supportec uses a CAD/CAM system, which stands for Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM). With these two systems, our team of engineers concentrate mainly on the preparation phase of the production process. CAD technology allows us to design and develop products from scans that are supplied to us. These are then converted into a CAM production environment. This is what we call implementing the milling strategies on the computer by means of software. All this is done by programming the most efficient machining process possible for our milling robots.

We manufacture products based on your needs and specifications!

When making our products, our engineers ensure your wishes and all agreements are met, as well as focusing on the quality of the product. Preparations for processes like milling in foam for our soft orthoses, but also milling the moulds for the production of the ABS orthoses, are made with great care and precision. The digital models that are drawn are also used to prepare the upholstery process. The same patterns that our employees calculate for the production phase are supplied to our upholstery department. The biggest advantage of an entirely digital process is that the accuracy of the product is never lost and that our products can easily be reproduced. Our engineers also make drawings for our laser cutter and milling machines. This makes it relatively straightforward to add customised parts such as armrests and worktops to our product range.
